Brett Dundules

Technical Service Manager, Senior Fire Safety and Building Compliance Assessor

With 30+ years in the building industry, Brett has extensive experience in building legislation, codes, standards, fire protection systems design, fire safety risk/compliance inspections and assessments.

Brett has in-depth knowledge of essential (fire) safety measures focusing on fire safety risk minimisation and compliance across all types of buildings uses and sizes. These includes high rise
commercial buildings such as offices, apartments and hotels, large shopping complexes, industrial / warehouse buildings, hospitals and medical laboratories, universities, telecommunication and water service utilities.

Brett has a good knowledge of the State and Territory building legislation, fire safety legislation, the National Construction Code, Australian Standards, the EP&A Regulations, Fire Regulations. He has previously developed designs for fire sprinkler, fire hydrant and fire detection & alarm systems and several fire engineering reports. Brett also has a good knowledge of smoke control systems.

Brett is also experienced in:

  • Conducting complex Systems Interface Testing in complex
    buildings;
  • Inspecting and assessing installed performance-based fire
    engineered building solutions.

Brett has previously worked as:

  • A fire protection systems designer for Umow Lai
  • A fire safety auditor for Greencap (formerly Noel Arnold & Asc)
  • A fire safety inspector/officer for Melbourne City Council
  • A Senior Technical Officer for the Fire Protection Association of
    Australia; and
  • Has been involved with Standards Australia committee’s and
    the ABCB’s Building Code Committee.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Engineering – Building Engineering
  • Diploma in Building Surveying
  • Graduate Diploma in Building Fire Safety and Risk Engineering
  • Associate Diploma in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration
